Short Biography
Rasa Iffat Helmi serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at RTM Al-Kabir Technical University (RTM-AKTU). Prior to her current role, she was a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Engineering & Management (UEM); earlier, as a Teaching Assistant at the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata, India. She also worked as a Research Assistant at Duksung Women’s University, Seoul, South Korea. She secured 2nd rank as the coach of Team Dreaders, which received the Best Popular Team award at the ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Competition 2023, and was honored, with the Best New Faculty Member Award in 2020 from the IEM-UEM Group. Her earlier accomplishments include becoming the 1st Runner-Up in the ACM-ICPC International Programming Contest in 2018. In addition, she has actively contributed as a workshop conductor, leading a three-day remote workshop on Omnet++ in April 2025 at Techno India University and a five-day workshop on Graphics Design in 2023 at RTM Al-Kabir Technical University, thereby reinforcing her commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
Rasa holds a Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal, India.
Her research specializes in computer networks, particularly ad hoc networks, wireless communication systems, and VANET. She is the primary author of five SCOPUS-indexed international journal publications. She has taken part in several international conferences, seminars, and training programs organized by BAC, WIPO, NITTR, Springer, CDAC, the Computer Society of India, CodeChef, and other professional bodies. She also served as a reviewer for the UEM Conference in 2019.
