Leadership and Management

 

The activities of RTM-AKTU in respect of academic, administrative, and financial matters will be managed as per the provisions of the Private University Act, 2010 by implementing necessary statutes, rules and regulations. Proper lines of authority will be formed for maintaining all the formal functions of the University. The Ministry of Educations (MOE) is the line ministry for all private universities, which provides guidance and support on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh (GOB). The university will receive professional guidance and support from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh.

RTM-AKTU is founded by the valiant freedom fighter Dr. Ahmed Al Kabir with the approval of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Bangladesh under the Private University Act of 2010. The University’s governance and the competency-based training and education (CBTE) program will be guided by the Academic Council, the Syndicate, and the RTM-AKTU Board of Trustee (BoT) registered with the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and with the Registrar, Joint Stock Companies and Firms, Bangladesh. The university has a twelve (12) member Trustee Board with its founder Dr. Ahmed Al Kabir as its Chairman.

The Syndicate is the highest executive body that exercises administrative and supervisory control over the academic, administrative and management activities of the University.

The Academic Council recommends the educational policies of the University and also determines the curricula and courses that can help achieve high educational standards.

In regard to financial governance, the University’s emphasis will be on ensuring that all expenditure is legitimate and reasonable. The University will apply best practices in resource management; and diversify revenue streams to support ongoing financial viability. The University will organize the tuition fees for students on the basis of market insights and evidence to optimize enrolment and retention. The University will continue to embed effective planning and reporting practices, ensuring transparency and optimal allocation of resources. Funding and financial models will evolve to match research, skill development and education. Research revenue will be developed and diversified by creating global funding partnerships and facilitating entrepreneurships.

Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar, Deans and other officers of the University are identified by the Board of Trustees (BoT) and will work as per the Board of Trustees established  rules and regulations including the provisions of the Private University Act, 2010. The Board of Trustees is the highest policy making body of the university. It is responsible for ensuring that the best educational and administrative standards are set and maintained at RTM-AKTU. The overall policy guidelines and management of the University will be guided by the RTM-AKTU Board of Trustees, while the academic activities and day to day management of the University will be managed by the Vice-Chancellor and his/her team.
